ARGENTINA Through Harold’s Lens:
The cobblestoned street neighborhood of San Telmo in Buenos Aires comes alive every Sunday.
Artisans, musicians, street performers and antique vendors come from near and far to share their treasures and their talents with the public at the weekly antique fair Feria de San Telmo.
San Telmo, my gramma used to scare us with a running fire-St. Elmo’s fire!!

…she said that if you ever catch a san telmo…the fire will turn into gold or money or something. I never caught one. Never saw one.

Oh my goodness – I remember seeing this same fellow in San Telmo in 2009! He must be a permanent fixture!

Kavi. He did not move when I was there. Maybe this is a stone statue that has not moved in years. Check out one of my other posts and see if you remember this: The Story? Flavors From BA.

Your reply made me think twice… but I truly remember him walking around! I even looked through my photos and seem to have found some evidence that he is a real person 😉 Either way, it’s surreal to see the same image years later, from another perspective. Will email them to you or post on my blog when I get a chance.

Marvelous colour combinations here, Harold… And to think this happens every Sunday. Now, that would be interesting to see…!

Thanks Carolyn. Sundays are a trip in San Telmo. The fair goes on as far as the eye can see. They close off the streets to vehicles. it’s a great place to browse and people watch. I’ll be posting a few more goodies from Sundays in San Telmo.
