TANZANIA Through Harold’s Lens:
The Serengeti’s late afternoon sun cast long black shadows through the sharp thorn fence surrounding her village.
Menacing black spikes grew in front of her on the vast bare earth.
The Maasai woman stood absolutely iron statue still for hours outside the front door of her one room circular home built with mud, grass, wood and cow dung. Her eyes were focused to the East.
She was waiting for her warrior husband to return from the veld.
Amazing. I would love a fraction of that dedication, and it is a wonderful photo.

I found it amazing also. Thank you. I was in that Maasai village about 6 hours and she stood there like that for half the time.

Agree Bupe! Beautiful to see once I understood what was happening, photographed her wonderful feeling face, then casually watched her for over three hours as she stood there waiting for her warrior as the dark approached. I was told that her warrior arrived that night.

Thanks Pablo. At first I could not figure out what she was doing. She was standing so still. I looked where she was looking and did not see anything but the wide open veld. I asked my guide. He answered my question as I fired away.
